Brief Description

It is a lengthy piece of colored cloth used by the garo women. The upper and the lower parts of the cloth are violet in color. The middle portion is red. In between these two major colours, there are two more strips of red and violet colour. These two stripes are bounded above and below all along by three lines of white threads interspered by other colors (violet and red) to demarcate these narrow stripes from the major stripes of violet and red colours. In the broad red stripe in the centre there are very light white paralellel lines at regular intervals are visible as design. In the lateral margin chain type of designing in yellow and white thread are there. In each band there are three rows. Central one is yellow followed by white - one above and the other below. There are altogether 4 inch bands along the lateral margin at a regular interval of 1/2 " from one another. Coloured frills of thread are there at the end of the lateral margins.

Brief Description

It is a broad piece of cloth, with dark brown body color, Three broad bands specifically designed golden coloured stripes in the lengthwise, two margins of the cloth piece from end to end. Between the adjacent stripes a half inch gap exists all along this length exposing the dark brown body color. Floral designs ( 2 flowers, one bud and 4 leaves in a bunch) are executed in the central part of the cloth and they are arranged systematically at regular itervals. Small fower like designs are also lying scattered in the central part of the cloth against the dark color background.

Brief Description

It is an elongated piece of cloth measuring 52" in length and 4 and 1/2" in breadth Body color is creamish. Broad and uniform lines of a bit darker colour are there all along its length. These lines run parallel to one another leaving a little gap between the adjacent lines. Two lateral margins are decorated. The decorated zones lie between the two red lines. Tufts of cotton thread are there at the free margins of the lateral sides. Two lengthwise margins of the cloth pieces are joined together along the margin of the joining by way of stitching covering the major portion of the cloth in the middle region making it half in width. But the two portions in front and back remain free. The two lateral margins of the sewn zone are also kept closed by stitching.

Brief Description

It is a "Muga cloth, with original muga colour. In the lower side of the cloth, close to its free border, there is a portion all along its length, where white threads arranged in quick succession, in parallel line against muga background forming a design ( very light colour) in the form of a band. A bit above this portion, there is another straight line of red colour (1/4" in breadth) all along the length of the cloth. Above this narrow red line, a broader red coloured stripe in straight line is also there. In the middle of this red stripe, two lines are there one above the other, where red and white threads form a design interposing one another. Rest part of the body is spotless with muga colour background.

Brief Description

Size Length: 60" Breadth 40 and 1/2" Consituent Material : cotton thread Description: a cotton handloom cloth prepared by the combination of white and black threads (cotton). It has been weaved in such a way that black and white stripes of same size and shape are arranged both in veryical and horizontal directions. They cross each other at regular intervals producing squares in syncronised way both in color and size. The squares of black, white and combination of black and white are arranged in systematic order at regular intervals. Colour scheme and design of the same type extend all over the body.
