Component Parts: Pipe and body Constituent materials: Metal Description: The specimen is a smoking pipe of the Garos. It is divided into two parts (I) Pipe and (ii) body. Pipe: The pipe is a slender elongated tube like structure with a free passage from end to end. The outer surface is decorated with incised zig-zag lines. It attains the length of 5" with a diameter of 1/8" Body: The body assumes the form of a bell . It is hollow and open from end to end. The body maybe divided into three parts, the lower part is definitely in the shape of a ball with bigger dimension. The upper portion is also something like a bell but in everted form. In between these two parts there is a globular portion circular in outline in the middle in between the upper and the lower parts, from this middle part a short tubular body has emerged. It is also provided with a free passage through and through. This opening leads to the opening in the main body The body on its external surface is decorated with incised zig zag lines and straight parallel vertical lines (in the middle part). There is a short hook like structure with perforation in the middle of the body immediately below the short tube. Similar type of hook is there on the upper structure of the pipe. It is with the help of these wire the tube and the body are joined together to discharge their respective duty. Hooks are used to tie the wire with the body and the pipe. Measurements: Length of tube: 5 " Length of body: 1 and 1/4" Diameter of body at the lower end: 1" Diameter at the upper end : 3/4"

Brief Description

Size: The pot attains the height of 8 and 1/2" Constituent material : clay Component Parts: No separate component part is there. The entire pot has been prepared as a single piece. Description: It is an earthen pot, brick coloured and maybe divided into several parts on the basis of their structural form such as (I.) stand (ii) body (iii) neck and (iv) rim The pot attains 8 and 1/2" in height. It has a circular stand at the base attaining the height of 1". The base is beautifully decorated with earthen modelling both on the outer and the inner side. The body proper is circular and a bulging one having maximum diameter in the middle. Its outer surface is also decorated by clay modelling executing the form of bamboo strips and the cane coiling. The bulging body terminates in a constricted part which attains the length of 1.5" This part is known as "neck". The neck ends with a circular rim with a central opening ( 3 and 1/2" in diameter) leading to the body cavity.

Size: Maximum length : 7" Constituent materials: brass Description: It is a flat type of vessal, attaining the maximum height of 7". The basal part is flat. The wall assumes the circular form all around right from the basal joining. The vessal assumes the maximum diameter at a point on the body about 3" from the ground level. From the point onwards. The wall starts decreasing in diameter till it reaches the neck region. The neck region is extremely short measuring only 3/4" in height. The slopping region is only 4 ". The neck directly leads to a circular opening which measures 9 and 1/2" in diameter with a rim all around. Measurements: Height of the vessal: 7" Height of the neck : 3/4" Diameter of the opening: 9 and 1/2"

Size: Maximum length from end to end: 12" Component part: Metallic chain, lime container, forcep, cutter etc. Constituent materials: German silver Description: The specimen has been made by combining a few component parts. The metallic chain measuring 4" in length and 1 and 1/2" in breadth is the central figure. Thee chain is fitted with two triangular shaped filigree decorated structures - one at each end. The terminal end of these structures are fitted with a circular hook. At one end of one of these structures half of the lime box is attached through hook and another half is fitted at the other structure at its terminal end. The end of the triangular structure where the cover or lid of the lime cotainer is attached, there are two chains originating from the basal frame of the triangular structure, one at each lateral side. The free ends of one of the chains is connected with a forceps and the other chain carries a cutter ( like a screw driver) at its terminal end. Measurements: Total length of the specimen: 12' Total length of the chain: 4' Breadth of the chain: 1 and 1/4" Length of the forceps : 3" Length of the cutter: 3"

It is a wooden vessal in the form of a bowl with a short handle carved out of the body at a particular position near the open end. Body: The entire structure has been carved out of a block of wood. The body looks like a bowl. Its open end is more or less circular in form attaining 11 and 1/2" in diameter. The bowl attains the depth of 4 and 3/4" at the centre. It is partly damaged with a perforation on the side wall and cracked on the rim of the opening end extending an inch or two down the wall. Handle: The handle is short measuring 3" in length and circular in outline. It gradually diminishes in circumference towards its open end. The handle is provided with an opening from end to end. The basal part of the bowl is flat having a diameter of 5 and 1/2"
